I took up an offer that pays all of my schooling for me but enroll in a major that they want me to take. When I wanted to go to college I wanted to pursue my dreams in the medical field whether it be holding a scalpel or doing research and now I'm studying horticulture and soil. We're talking about soil people! The stuff you walk on! I fought for three whole years to change majors and the people are not budging to switch it for me. It gets more complicated than that but that's the gist of the story. I take this offer because my family has financial issues, who doesn't in this time and age?
I didn't want to be a burden to them and the "smart" student that I am, did not do in depth research of the scholarship given to me. And I can't just quit either, if I do I have to pay the whole amount of schooling back to them and I can't afford it. I truly have no interest in the areas that the professors are teaching me as well as the lack of a college life here. To those of you who are strong in English and hate math, it's like spending four years to become an accountant and you definitely have NO interest in it, the whole career is math based! That's how I feel EVERYDAY waking up to school. I have no more dreams, I am an empty shell.
What would you have done in my situation?
